Yes, both options have been discussed – along with many more. The reason for the wristband (over a stamp) is so that it’s not washed off overnight. The bands were a hit last year and we literally went through hundreds of them in a very short time, less than 2 hours, making writing on them individually too taxing on our staff and volunteers. We do require that the bands not be broken, cut, stretched out, or otherwise tampered with (indicating they may have been passed on to another person) to get back in on Sunday. They aren’t transferable as they are intended to be a perk for the patron purchasing a ticket and checking IDs on Sunday is an additional task that we don’t want to put on our lovely volunteers working the gates.

Have you thought about putting a stamp on peoples’ hands instead of the wrist band? I know some might find this objectionable but it would be more comfortable than a wristband. Or maybe write the name of the purchaser on the wristband and if they return the next day with it broken, they would need to show a picture ID.

This was the second time ever at the Indianapolis Arts enter, and my family couldn’t have had a better time. My daughter and I had a great time dancing with the miriachi band, watching the dancers, and enjoying the the altars. A great show, and I really look forward to other events at the arts center.

The IAC is such an under-recognized organization in our city. It is my favorite gallery to walk through on a moment’s notice and have always felt it was too tucked away from passing traffic. I’m glad to see the visibility of the building being addressed and I’m sure it will reap great rewards.
